To an awe-struck nine year old, Roger was the archtypical trendy uncle: sports-car driving, teller of tall tales, internationally travelled and married to an exotic beauty from Germany. Fifty years on, nothing had changed (other than the sports car). He had a great life. And lived it to the full. We will miss him.
